The Guide uses a mascot – a current student and volunteer, Paul – to inject fun tit-bits into the content via “Paul’s handy hints”. Paul appears throughout the guide, usually striking a funny pose, to provide a side-note to different articles. This fun design element proved to be very successful as Paul, because of his public role and involvement in virtually all events, was recognised by many of the first-years who read the Guide. |
